Youth, homeless is eight PDF page written by Marjorie J. Robertson. This article is discussing the homelessness among youth people. Marjorie discussed different aspects about the homeless youth such as the Limitations of Literature, definitions, the number of homeless youth, the reasons of becoming homeless, health problems, survival while homeless, long term outcomes, and the intervention strategies. In overview about the article, Marjorie used statistics and studies to support his perspective about the homeless youth.

At the beginning, Marjorie told the audiences that the homelessness among youth people is a serious problem, and the number of the homeless youth is big, so by these facts, Marjorie tried to get his audience attentions. And then, Marjorie compared the literature between the homeless youth and the homeless adults and families. Also, Marjorie discussed the research sources, and which parts are focused on by the recent researches.

According to the article, defining homeless youth is difficult. So, the term homeless youth in this article can be define as anyone has spent at least one night in a shelter or in the streets without parents, because the big percentage of the researches focus on those who are really homeless. Furthermore, the age is playing an important role on defining the term homeless youth, and according to Marjorie "The term homeless youth will generally refer to those between the ages of twelve and seventeen." In this part of the article, Marjorie gave the audience different types of homeless youth definitions, and the factors that play an important role in the definitions.

In the third part of the article, Marjorie discussed the number of the homeless youth and how hard to estimate it. According to Marjorie, the number of the homeless youth that age between twelve to seventeen is over 1 million based on a survey of youth in U.S. households in 1992 and 1993. The article.

In the characteristics of homeless youth paragraph, Marjory used a story, statistics, and couple studies to prove the rate of homosexual, some problems that homeless youth face such us educational problems, and the reasons of becoming homeless. And then, Marjorie moved to the homeless youth health problems.

In the health problems paragraph, Marjorie mentioned the health and behaviors problems that homeless youth carry, and the reasons of having these issues. Also, he discussed the sexual problems, and by using the logos method, Marjorie did pretty well to clear the idea of the paragraph, and by using statistics and studies he could reach the audience agreement.

By the end of this article, I would like to say that I believe this article has written for the academic people, and the communities. Marjorie used great strategies to meet the audience need by making this article easy to read, and he also wrote almost every paragraph as a single essay which makes the reader follow the writer easily.

DOMINUS, SUSAN. "Providing a Warm, Safe Holiday for Homeless Youth." New York Times 26 Dec. 2009: 19. Academic Search Premier. EBSCO. Web. 28 May 2011.

The article of Providing a Warm, Safe Holiday for Homeless Youth has written by Susan Dominus. I believe that Susan Dominus wrote this article based on his observations, because his wording for this article proves that. Susan Dominus appealed the audience by using pathos method. Dominus used couple stories, two for young women, and one for a young man to show the homeless wishes during holidays. And in the last paragraph, Dominus mentioned a story for a 19 years old who was wearing sleeveless undershirt that this young man received a red-wrapped present(a gray T-shirt with a striking graphic, and an expensive-looking polo shirt) from Ms. Zaretsky, and this story to show us how easy and on of many ways to make the homeless happy.

LEO H., CARNEY. "HOMELESS CHILDREN ON INCREASE, STUDY SHOWS." New York Times 17 Aug. 1986: 1. Academic Search Premier. EBSCO. Web. 28 May 2011.

Through the Albertsons Library I found an article titled by Homeless Children on Increase written in the New York times by Carney, Leo H. This article is discussing that a big percentage of homeless are not running way from their homes, but they don't have homes at all by providing studies, the homeless coalition inside shelters, and gives production for homeless children and their families. Leo used direct quotations to prove each one of his points for instant, ''The major function of a shelter is to house runaway and homeless youths,'' said Joseph Ventola, a spokesman for the coalition, ''but we're finding in the study that there are more homeless placed in these shelters than runaways.''  There are some programs mentioned in this article, and the purpose of these programs is to send the homeless children back home, but because not all of the homeless children have homes we should have shelters just for children and families to keep the child and the mother together. According to Judy Donohoe. This article is really helpful for my research essay, because it's full of studies and statistics that I can use in my paper.
